Having graduated in Musical Instrument Technology from Leeds College of Music in 1986, Helen worked at Howarth's of London, the double reed specalist, for two years.  She then set up a workshop in Rushworth's Music Shop in Chester repairing woodwind, string and brass instruments as well as helping and advising customers.

In 1996 she moved her workshop to Dawson's Music Shop, also in Chester, and worked there until 2011.
She has now established her own business in Wrexham and repairs woodwind, string and brass instruments for students and professionals alike.

She is a professional member of the National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers.
Helen is a practising musician herself, playing bassoon and contra-bassoon with Wrexham Symphony Orchestra and the Cambrian Orchestra.  She also enjoys singing with the Sirenian Singers, St Giles' Church Choir and St Margaret's Singers, all based in the Wrexham area.
